I figured we'd get current and add even more "Life" to our Sunday Night Life Group! Everyone in our life group is able to post, so feel free to post thoughts, prayer requests, needs, and any other stuff.
Kate and I came across a great qoute this morning in a book we just starting reading together by A.W. Tozer called "The Pursuit of God". It has to do with our desire for sanctification.
"I want deliberately to encourage this mighty longing after God. The lack of it has brought us (the American Church) to our present low estate. The stiff and wooden quality about our religious lives is a result of our lack of holy desire. Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth. Acute desire must be present or there will be no manifestation of Christ to His people. He waits to be wanted. Too bad that with many of us He waits so long, so very long, in vain."

Forgive me for I am not in your life group, but I love this book and the quote.

How apparent is it that many in the church have no desire to live for Christ and therefore God has no desire to show up. This should cause great fear and conviction in our hearts.
Oh God, please revive us with a holy passion and desire! Wake us up so we can receive you back into our churches.
Hello,
Trish and I have decided to make shredded chicken sandwiches for Sunday night. We just need some people to provide the buns, a vegetable (green beans, corn, taters of any persuasion, or whatever tickles your fancy), and the normal drinks and/or desert. If you have never had shredded chicken sandwiches, prepare your taste buds for an explosion of flavorful deliciousness that will leave you with an undeniablly altered way of life.
Talk to you soon,
Ryan & Trish
